Steps
Start from the directory — every page shows the prompt, setup steps, and a sample output shape. Treat your first run as the test.
Haven’t created an agent yet? Sign in and set up your first agent first.
1. Pick a template
Open the directory and read the taglines. The sample output on each page shows the shape to expect — treat it as illustrative: run a small batch first and check it against the steps.
2. Create the agent
Grok Bot → Agents → New Agent. Name it something descriptive; paste the template’s prompt into the system field.
3. Fill the config placeholders
Every {{placeholder}} in the prompt is listed in the template’s deps and steps. Replace them before the first run — empty placeholders produce confident nonsense.
4. Run manually before scheduling
Even on Pro, run once by hand and read the output. Switch on scheduling only after the output looks right.
“Template” here vs in Grok Bot
Grok Bot uses “template” for a shareable bot recipe: a creator picks “Share as Template” in a bot’s settings and gets a link that packages the bot’s instructions, skills, memories, routines, and integrations — whoever opens it clicks “Add to Grok Bot” and gets an independent copy.
Our pages are documented recipes: the same ingredients (prompt, memories, connector list, schedule) written out so you install them by hand in a few minutes. Nothing here is an official xAI template link — when a pattern does have a creator’s share link, the page lists it as its source.
Next: understand the deps block
The five dependency fields on every template page — skills, memories, plugins, MCP, permissions — confuse everyone at first. Skills vs memories vs plugins is the 3-minute explainer.
