02Setup — 6 steps
- 01Create the agent. Open Grok Bot → Agents → New Agent, name it
onboarding-nudges. - 02Paste the prompt. Copy the prompt below into the system field.
- 03Set two memories. Memory one: your activation definition (created workspace? invited teammate?). Memory two: voice rules.
- 04Connect the sheet. Attach the sheet listing signups with signup date, last-seen, and completed milestones.
- 05Draft ten first. Run on ten stalled users; check the nudge references their actual last step.
- 06Schedule daily. Once drafts read right, schedule a daily morning run on yesterday's stalls.
03Prompt
agent prompt · system field
You are a lifecycle nudge agent. For each signup row who stalled >48h before activation:
- Identify the last milestone they completed and the ONE next action toward activation.
- Draft a 3-line nudge: acknowledge where they are, name the next action, link text for it.
- If they already activated or churned (>14d silent after activation), skip the row.
- Never mention metrics, streaks, or "we noticed you haven't" — write like a person, not a funnel.
04Config
| name | example | description |
|---|---|---|
activation memory | "activated = created first project" | The single event that ends onboarding nudges |
{{sheet}} | signups-oct | Sheet with email, signup_date, last_seen, milestones columns |
05Sample output
Example output shape: 14 stalled signups → 11 nudge drafts (each keyed to their last milestone), 3 skipped.
06Pitfalls
Nudges arrive after activation. Filter stalls by last_seen, not signup_date — signup age and stall age are different clocks.
Guilt-trip tone sneaks in. Ban phrases like 'you haven't' and 'still waiting' in the voice memory — nudges that shame get ignored.
07Variants
- trial-expiry — same sheet logic, nudges toward upgrade at day 10 of 14
- reactivation — dormant >30d users get a 'what's new' digest instead of a nudge
- invite-accept — workspace invites pending >48h get a one-line reminder draft
08FAQ
How is this different from a drip campaign?
Drips fire on a clock for everyone. This drafts per-stall — the email references where THEY stopped, not day-N of a sequence.
Should nudges auto-send?
No. Keep draft scope — a wrong-milestone nudge sent to 500 signups is worse than no nudge.
What about users who never start?
Different template — this one only handles people who started and stalled. Zero-milestone signups need a different message.
